Are you planning your Ramadan Umrah trip from London? Well, London is the major centre of the Muslim community in the United Kingdom. A lot of Muslims travel for Umrah from London each year. Usually, this religious journey from England to Saudi Arabia takes 4,700 km to cover through a direct or connecting flight. This takes 8 to 12 hours to reach Saudi Arabia.
However, Umrah can be performed at any time of the year, and you can travel whenever you want. But what about Umrah during Ramadan? It’s one of the peak, best, and famous months for pilgrimage. Many Muslims desire to travel for Umrah in Ramadan, especially during the last ten nights of this blessed month. If you are also one of them and want to go for an Umrah trip from London, seek this guide as it will help you a lot. So, let’s plan your Ramadan Umrah perfectly!
Ramadan: A Month of Blessings for Muslims
Ramadan is the 9th month of the Islamic calendar and a blessed one. The period of this month is 29 or 30 days, depending on the next month’s moon sighting. During this blessed period, the daily routine of Muslims changed. One of the famous acts of Ramadan is fasting, which lasts continuously for the whole month. Muslims do fast from pre-dawn to sunset, which is an allowed period according to Islamic regulations. They spend the entire day in recitation of the Holy Quran, do Dhikr of Allah SWT, and perform prayers.
Even some devout Muslims perform extra (Nafl) prayers in Ramadan. Taraveeh prayers are another benefit of Ramadan that is performed after the Isha, the last prayer of the day. Umrah is another act that can also be done in this blessed period. All you need is just a Ramadan Umrah package from London through a reliable travel agency and then travel for its performance. The package’s services can be either 3-star, 4-star, or 5-star. You can expect the cost of the Ramadan package from London to be around £1000 to £2000+, depending on category and service.
For the Ramadan Umrah Trip, Select the Suitable Dates
To start the Ramadan Umrah trip, for the very first, you need to select the most suitable dates in which you want to travel. As we know, this month has 29 or 30 days, which is further divided into three stages. Each stage of 10 days, also called Ashra and the final ten days are important in Ramadan. Because the final ten days hold the “Night of Power or Decree” that comes on one of the odd nights. Keep in mind that Umrah during the last ten days of Ramadan will cost more, and you will face many crowds in Makkah.
During the first stage, crowds are moderate, and in the middle of the month, crowds increase a bit. From the 21st day, you can assume very rush. Let’s suppose you want to travel in the second stage of the blessed month. It’s time to choose the trip’s duration. For a short period, you can go for 7 to 14 days, but for longer, you can expect 21 days or a full month. Furthermore, arrange your budget and maximise it because packages are typically expensive than the usual cost.
Note: In the coming year (2026), Ramadan is expected to start from February 17 and will end on March 18. So, organise your travel dates and services at your earliest convenience.
Choose a Reputable Umrah Agency and Buy a Ramadan Package
When you plan Umrah from London or any part of the UK in Ramadan, you can’t arrange or book every service individually. You will require a religious and authorised travel agency. When choosing an agency, make sure it’s ATOL-protected and following the regulations of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Saudi Arabia. Check out their reputation on different online platforms, such as Google rating & reviews, experience in the industry, and their transparency of service.
After checking the agency’s reliability and authorisation, proceed towards the final booking of the package on the given cost agreement. You must ensure that the package is all-inclusive (flights, accommodation, transportation, visa, guided tour, and Ziyarats). Reserve each and every service according to your personal preferences and the total members going to travel with you. If you buy at least 6 to 8 months earliest, the package cost may be cheaper than the on-time booking.
Learn How to Perform Umrah in Ramadan
Whether Umrah is in Ramadan or during any other month, the performance of rituals is the same. There are four main rituals that you must perform.
- Wear Ihram
- Perform Tawaf
- After Tawaf, conduct Sa’ee
- Do Halq or Taqsir
Ihram is the name of the condition of purity, as well as a specific dress that you must wear to start Umrah. This dress is different for both men and women. Before wearing the Ihram, you should take a shower or do ablution. For men, the Ihram is two white pieces of cloth for both the upper and lower body. However, as a woman, you can wear an Abaya in either black or white.
The second step is Tawaf, which is done around the Holy Kaaba. Tawaf is about circumambulation in an anticlockwise direction seven times. Pilgrims kiss or touch the Holy Kaaba as well as the Black Stone during Tawaf. In Ramadan, crowds near the Holy Kaaba are more, and you may face hustle and bustle. So, be patient, focus on your worship, and remember your purpose.
The third step of Umrah in Ramadan is Sa’ee, which is done between the Safa and Marwah hills. These hills are located inside the Grand Mosque of Makkah. Again, you have to perform seven laps between both hills; one lap will be considered from Safa to Marwah and vice versa. Likewise, the fourth step is Halq or Taqsir, also known as Qasr. This step is about hair cutting (for women) or shaving (for men). Halq/Taqsir is done outside the Grand Mosque, with the help of a barber or manually by oneself.
Prepare Your Packing Checklist for Ramadan Umrah Trip
Packing for an Umrah trip is not similar to other trips and tours. Remember, this trip is a pilgrimage, so you have to be modest while packing the essential items. Pack only the required goods such as Ihram, daily wears, ladies’ Abayas, undergarments, shawl & jacket for winter, toiletries, medications, electronics, and travel documents. Don’t pack additional things like heavy or bulky items. This will increase your luggage weight. Hence, keep your luggage between 23-25 kg, the standard of every airline for checked baggage and 7-8 kg of hand-carry.
To glance up, Umrah in Ramadan is the wish of every London Muslim, but to fulfil this desire, you should follow some guidelines. The tips above-mentioned will help you a lot when you plan and book your Ramadan Umrah with the help of an agency. Once again, keep in mind, London to Makkah is not just a journey, it’s a religious purpose and a pilgrimage.
